The planktonic foraminiferal genus, Huberella n.gen., of the Family Heterohelicidae Cushman, 1927, is described from the Turonian (Upper Cretaceous) of the western North Atlantic and equatorial Pacific. It accommodates a lineage which is characterized by the development of lid-like chamber projections attached to the previous chamber of the row in the adult portion of the test. Develop- ment of these structures does not result in the presence of accessory apertures along the zigzag suture. Two species are included in this lin- eage, Huberella praehuberi n.sp. and H. huberi n.sp. The latter is designated as type species of the newly described genus.
