ABSTRACT: The International Workshops on Agglutinated Foraminifera (IWAF) are part of a long-term effort to understand the taxonomy, classification, ecology, and biostratigraphy of this ancient and diverse group of microfossils. Since 1981, the IWAF meetings have been held approximately every four years in a different European country, and have produced a remarkable body of scientific literature. The 9th IWAF in Zaragoza, Spain hosted 53 scientists who gave a total of 56 contributions. The current Micropaleontology issue contains the scientific results of eight presentations given at the IWAF-9.
