ABSTRACT: There are few published data on the large benthic faunas of the type Hume Formation. Eight species of rugose corals and seven of brachiopods are considered because of their importance to the upper Eifelian benthic zonation and transgressive-regressive cycles in western Canada. Although formal taxonomy of these species is not included, synonymies required to find previously published illustrations and descriptions are provided. Emphasis is to present maximum data on their distribution to justify the zonation used. In ascending order the three benthic assemblage zones used are the adoceta, dysmorphostrota, and castanea zones. Consideration of lithologic facies and their benthic fossils suggests that the late Eifelian T-R cycles recognized in western Canada are the same as those recognised in Euramerica.
